We are really excited to announce that we’ll be working with two very different, but two very great bands. These will be some of our first two releases of 2012, and should see the light of day in early winter (February).
With out further ado here is some stuff:
Night Sins: Members of Salvation, Mother of Mercy, and Nothing take on coffin bound groans that creep through the corridors of one’s mind like a half-recalled glimpse into the beyond. Christian Death/Bauhaus/Samhain possession with haunting vocals that hearken the ghost of Peter Steele.
We bring you their lead track “Anatasia” and this will be released as a 3 track 12” EP that is currently titled. This will be limited to a pressing of 300.
LVLUP was formed in winter of 2010-2011 by David Benton and Mike Caridi as a joke. Dave and Mike intended to use LVLUP as an outlet for writing short lo-fi acoustic pop hits. After demoing their first few songs, the boys decided to spice up the mix with the sultry Benjamin Smith, Nick Corbo, and Greg Rutkin. After 8 months of recording/rerecording/
playingTonyHawk’sProSkater4™ LVLUP produced “SPACE BROTHERS: A 13 SONG TRIBUTE TO GIORGIO TSOUKALOS” in October 2011. “SPACE BROTHERS” is available on cassette through DOUBLE DOUBLE WHAMMY, and will be available on vinyl via Evil Weevil in early 2012. *_* Here is a free download of their LP and this will be released this February with the Night Sins record. http://evilweevilrecords.bandcamp.com/album/space-brothers We have so much other stuff planned for this year including a New Years Eve show to celebrate our 3rd anniversary, a 3 day wrestling/punk festival, a SXSW show and other fun stuff we enjoy doing.
Thanks for everything

SO PROUD OF MY BABY BOYS (LVL UP)!!! CAN’T WAIT FOR THAT LP <3 <3
Our own boy Mike Caridi playing a solo set this past saturday! Check out this video! He played acoustic LVL UP songs as well as a Mountain Goats cover!
To say their songs have hooks is an understatement. “Youth Cult” (and, let’s face it, the entire NO ART// NO TRADE) is one phenomenally scuzzy earworm after another. Listen to this and try hopelessly to fight the urge to hum along, play air drums on your steering wheel, and flail every limb available.
(Album name leads to a free download, you cheap fuck.)
“Space Brothers”, the new album from our good friends LVL UP has finally seen a tape release… but what’s on the other side? My friends, a plethora of beautiful demos and B-sides await on the flip side of the cassette. For your convenience, the tracks have been lovingly ripped to a more accessible format by us at camp Abba Eban. We share them with you on the condition that you go out and either:
First release from dbl dbl whammy. “SPACE BROTHERS” is the debut full length from New York’s LVL UP. LVL UP includes members of Weird Korea, Sirs, Spook Houses and Morrison Brook.
Limited edition of 100 blue cassettes. Recorded by LVL UP and mastered by Mike Ditrio. Out October 6th!
What better way to kick off the blog than with a debut of this caliber? Clocking in at a mere 24 minutes, “Space Brothers” is a masterwork that takes the too-many-chefs syndrome so many bands suffer from and runs with it.
Tracks like Apocalyptophobia and *_* are like the best moments of Built To Spill with a lot more heart, while Elixer is a beautifully introspective closer that effortlessly transitions from banjo plucks to swelling harmonies in the blink of an eye. I feel uncertain about recommending tracks, since they’re honestly all THAT GOOD. I’ll let you hear for yourself, though.
LVL UP are an excellent bunch, and they plan on releasing their tape on their new label Double Double Whammy in the near future.
